The Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table provides the additional benefit of AB training while inverting. By including AB and Core training to the inverting position it will isolate the abdominal muscle more effectively then bench training. At the same time inverting will provide effective back stretching and relaxation. The Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table expands the use of Inversion Table and provide an additional dimension to inverting by using 10 different locking angle of inversion. The Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table can be locked for safely mounting and dismounting as well.

Solid well built, Looks good, Easy to use once you get used to the locking in position feature. I found that it is easier to get back up by setting the height adjustment a little longer than your actual height. Ex. if you're 5'10" set for 5'11" or even 6'.

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

Just came yesterday, so I can't speak to the long-term effects for fitness; but I can say its short term effects for back pain are legitimately impressive. After lugging the box up to my third floor apartment and assembling the table my back was starting to freak out(I have a herniated disk between my L4 and L5 vertebrae), and the finished product had an immediate, palliative effect on the muscles. Felt like a ton of pressure was taken of my spine, and I slept through the night without my back tightening up again. Even felt good enough to do a two hour session at the gym today (although my back is no longer happy with me for that). My only causes for concern are that: 1)The locking mechanism sometimes gets jammed([...]as the casing of the joint was shattered - and it jams), and that 2)My back sometimes feels a little too stretched, like if I were to attempt a sit-up or move quickly I might hurt myself.Unless your spine is as ridiculously damaged as mine is, however, or [...], I'm guessing you'll like this table. Even in consideration of my two concerns, I am happy I purchased mine.

Service & Delivery comments:

Liked being able to track my delivery, and that it came when predicted, but unhappy that it arrived damaged.

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

Extruded L5/S1 disc completely into the nerve path and the only relief I can get, beyond the professional therapy I'm getting, is hanging upside down on this unit. Unable to reach down to latch oneself in, this ratcheting mechanism works great. With major pain down the left side, 1 minute upside down allows relief to at least get about my day. The multi-position inversion control allows you different inclines and locking in if you want to do some AB workout in the form of inverted sit ups to strentghen your core.

This has been a life changer and great features for a very competitive price.

Got here in 2 days - when the Fed Ex truck pulled up, I was shocked - my husband had it out of the box and assembled in 1 hour. He is 5'11" and uses it for his back aches. I am 5'3" and I use it for general workouts and stretching. We both love the way we feel when we get through. The table is perfect in everyway and he jumps off and adjusts it for my heigth and I jump on. We have it in a room where we can fold it up when we want to get it out of the way. We are amazed to see the immediate results in how we feel. This is the first inversion table either of us has owned and this one is perfect. By the way, we are in our 60s and just got married..... life is good!

I use the inversion table for a full body stretch each evening. I am a PE teacher and a marathon maniac. By using the inversion table, I find that not only do I feel taller, my back doesn't hurt as much. Though I do not really have back problems, I am always tight in my back and hips. This inversion table really helps. The only negative aspect is that it is hard to store. The table itself is a better quality than the tables sold at the local sporting goods store.

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

I bought the table for Ab workouts. It has really helped. The best feature is the locking ability so once you have inverted you can lock it into place and do crunches without it moving. If you intend to do exercise on the unit be cautious that other inversion tables generally don't have the locking feature - they are cheaper but you can't do any Ab work on them. I don't have any complaints. [...]It did have to be assembled but was not difficult.

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

My husband and I both have lower back problems. He is 20 years post op and I am having surgery in the next 2-3 months. Both L5-S1 and we had relief the first time we used it. I use it 3 or more times a day and it buys me about 20-30 mins. of decreased pain. My husband uses it to get started in the morning and then again before bed. It helps us both sleep. I was having such problems sleeping one night that I sleep on it for about 30 mins in the partially inverted position and was able to sleep the rest of the night in bed. It was worth every penny spent. Just hard to put away with a bad back.

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

Product very sturdy, not flimsy, pillow nice, main bed is nylon canvas type with small strip of padding for lower lumbar. tilts back with the lever located on right side. handle is plastic with steel mechanism. easily adjusted for different height and ease if inversion. Folds nicely for storage, I weigh 260 lbs, ankle locks hold at full 90 degree inversion I would have rather have steel but they do hold. after 2 minutes ankle locks become uncomfortable probly due to my weight and lack of padding on lock. As to does it work, no lie the first time I inverted I could feel it on my lower back stretching, i use it every day, 2 min itervals for total of 10 min. i am now doing crunches and soon full situps, I wake in the mornin with no back pain. This product compared to the others including Teeter, I feel it best by for the money, the locking system for ankles is not hard to operate, assembly was minimal, just follow instructions, all tools needed are included. bolts are all sotred with proper washers already installed very simple and fast assembly..If you are comparing, I found this to be the best buy and I am happy with it. No problems so far..If Ironman does switch to all metal ankle restraint system they should send the upgrade out free of charge. but as long as the current system works, if it aint broke dont fix it! If it did fail, im sure the ensueing law cases would force an upgrade but till then i still would recommend ab toner.

My lower back feels great, Im not impressed with the plastic locking system for your feet/ankles but it has held to this point and I am fully inverted doing crunches untill I am able to do full situps. The longest I can invert fully is 2 min. then my ankles/feet hurt from restraints this could be do to lack of padding or my obesity either way i invert for 2min intervals. I felt results from the first day and I will invert daily. As for table, very sturdy construction (excluding ankle lock system)if it breaks I sue.. that'll settle that. pillow is nice, table itself is streched canvas/nylon type works well so far and it is comfortable, but the whole table is not padded, there is a small strategically placed piece of padding to offer a little extra support for situps, I am 5ft 10inch male. Easily adjust and folds nicely may be heavy for some to store but I like it. I shopped around and compared all the features most others offered including the teeter, and for the money the Ab Toner is in my opinion th ebest product for the money. Assembly, is very easy straight forward mabey 16 bolts to install FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN ORDER! all tools are included to assemble. My 7 yr old son could complete any assembly required. I would recommend it. my only issue is the ankle locking system but so far NO PROBLEMS, plastic formulation has come a long way and I am assuming Ironman has done the testing of the polymer plastics used in this machine and found them to be safe,as far as my personal experience, so far so good. I have inverted with sneaks on and off i preferre without, I am more comfortable, but to each their own. Table Lock mechanism is steel with blue plastic handle seems sturdy and has several locking positions works well so far.. im on day 3 of using table..One other con, They did send me the wrong product initially but afer a few calls we got it straighted out. Use email it is quicker.

Solid but poor ankle restraints

Pros:
Easy To Use, Sturdy
Cons:
Unstable
Best Uses:
General Fitness
Describe Yourself:
Occasional Exerciser
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

The product was easy to assemble and solid. It feels stable through the full inversion range. However, the ankle restraints do not remain fastened. They are held by a latch that pops open easily, making it rare that my feet are held securely. This would seem to be an easy thing to resolve, but until it is I could not recommend it.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt and the product arrived in good condition. I have not yet attempted to contact customer service about the apparent design defect.

Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

It's good and stable but really heavy and cumbersome. It's not at all portable and doesn't really fold up. It requires it's own space.

The release and lock mechanism cracked during assembly but that was because the illustrations were crude and I was assembling it backward into the frame. It's works fine but is disconserting because it locks very easily and what if it doesn't unlock? Not everyone can pull themselves up to the ankle lock to release it. If you were inverted you would be trapped until rescued. It also does not invert and revert easily. I once had a primitive early model inversion bed that required inversion boots. It rotated easily in the manner you see on TV. I mere extension of the arms was enough to invert and revert to upright. Not so with this one. You have to pull yourself back and up each time.

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

The table is sturdy and I feel very secure on it. It locks in a number of positions. I purchased it for the primary use of decompressing my spine but I have also done sit-ups on it. I like the feel.

The assembly instructions are great and assembly was simple and easy.

It is neither small nor light weight. So make sure that you have an adequate space for it and do not plan to move it around a lot.

Delivery was very prompt. It arrived in great condition. I had no need to contact Customer Service.

Better than the 1980's.
By noneVerified Purchaser from san antonio , texas on 9/1/2008
Pros:
Sturdy
Cons:
Limited Use
Best Uses:
General Fitness, Weight Loss
Describe Yourself:
Weekend Warrior
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Ironman Ironman AB Toner 5900 Inversion Table:

It's a very good product. It's well made. This makes it heavy and it is about 25lbs too heavy to be convenient. I had an inversion machine in the 1980's that was lighter and much easier to fold up and move. This one does not fold away well.

The gatch mechanism on the left side, that holds it in various positions, can lock when you don't want it too. It should require a more purposeful act to lock it than it does. I don't recall that my old table locked at all. This one does not invert and reverse as easily as the old one. It is more difficult to reverse your position than the 1980's version which did so easily when you raised your arms.

The foot holders are satisfactory and an improvement over the old inversion boots I used in the 1980's.

The assemnbly of this machine required a few hours and was a little confusing as to which way to face the table in the frame. The plastic cover to the locking mechanism cracked when the table inverted in the wrong direction. Better illustrations could have avoided this.

Overall, its a better product than the one I had in the 1980's. It cost about the same, which, considering inflation, is a lot less than the old version. I use it to invert myself and relieve pressure on the spine and internal organs as well as to flood internal organs and the thyroid and pituitary glands with blood. This compliments yoga exercises. The biggest drawback is the weight and lack of true foldability. The locking mechanism is also too sensitive and annoying.
